Emperor Norton's BoozeLand

Dive-ish, lively and enjoyable, a veritable Tenderloin institution. Look for the bright neon entrance on Larkin Street as you walk from City Hall or the UN Plaza after a march or festival. Feels tight when you first walk in, but there are several spaces, as if the place evolved room by room into the building it lives. Great mix of people creates a unique experience every time. Reasonable prices and Pliny on tap! A pool table and shuffleboard toward the back and a great patio for ‘fresh’ air, smoking and dogs, and a wall-sized Emperor Norton mural. If you have a chance, walk around and admire the memorabilia from the self-declared “Norton I., Emperor of these United States.” Efficient bartenders and service staff, I could se they were friendly with locals and loyals, but too loud and busy to stop and chat. This is a must have addition to your SF bar and pub bucket list.

I got kicked out immediately. I'm usually a very calm and friendly person but I got into an argument with the bartender right away. He threw my ID in the garbage by accident, but helped me find it afterward. He was pretty mean, but ultimately I know I deserved it. I'm leaving this review in the hopes that that bartender sees it and forgives me. He seems like a good guy.

Place is cute cant do much in terms of cocktails. But i like the layout of the place. Bartender was nice enough. Definately a calm neighborhood bar feel. Has pool table and shuffleboard.

Neighborhood gem!!! Friendly, low key, dive bar with awesome staff and set in a beautiful art deco building. A gorgeous piece of SF history. You wanna find a chill spot in the TL this is the one. Has pool. Outdoor seating and smoking patio in the back

Really great space with games and outdoor area. Drinks and bartender are great as well! Will definitely be back soon.
