The Independent

Tried this place a couple times since I am not far away. Foods not bad which is why it got 2 stars but otherwise the bald dude behind the bar kills the vibe. Would be enjoying my drink and when I check out or am next for service in line, I never know when he is going to snap. Rude and embarrassing to say the least. Gave it a try a few times but not going back after my experience yet again tonight.

Place was cool and beers were reasonable price but the bartender who attended us had an awful attitude. Would look at my friends and I in disgust. Don’t understand why he has a job in customer service.

My favorite bar in ATL, which isn't saying much. Even when I came regularly we only went to maybe a dozen different bars, half of which are no longer in operation. This place is still here after+10yrs of me coming around. Gone are the old consoles and intouch bar top games. They still have several pool tables, dart boards, jukebox and board games, along with cheap drinks and good eats. They got a little classy on me and stopped selling the 24oz cans of PBR so I had a couple of two hearteds instead. No ex to help me clear the leader board on erotic photo hunt(FUPAYME!), so I sat and read. Chatted with a couple of the bartenders and locals until they shut it down. There's outside seating weather permitting, and free 2hr parking.

Saturday 04/04/26 at approx 6:45 pm, I decided to try The Independent Bar on this 404 Day and the Bald headed non African American guy was rude to me from the minute I approached the counter. I just wanted to eat yet my 48 year old self was carded. I didn't realize it was a Bar. I crossed the area numerous times yet I was hesitant to visit the place. Then I was insulted when the Bald man who identified himself as the manager of the bar request to touch my state ID just to verify that it was real. Once again, I only wanted to eat and purchase alcohol. I immediately walked right out the bar and visited the restaurant downstairs Agnes. They welcomed me with open arms provided me with the customer service I didn't receive from The Independent. My visit to the Independent was my first and last!

Expensive junk food and reheated fries. On top of that, we received bad customer service from two of the employees. Definitely not worth it. We spent $100 in just one hour and only got to play around 15 minutes overall because they weren’t clear that time was still being charged while we were ordering and eating.
