Melvin Dizon★★★★☆
I recently visited Royal Arcade Bar in Honolulu’s Chinatown district, located along North Hotel Street in one of the city’s most vibrant nightlife neighborhoods. Chinatown has steadily evolved into a hub for creative bars, live music venues, and late-night hangouts, and Royal Arcade Bar adds a playful retro element to the area’s entertainment scene. The atmosphere immediately stands out. The space blends a cocktail bar environment with a collection of classic arcade games, creating a setting that feels both nostalgic and social. Dim lighting, colorful game screens, and upbeat music contribute to an environment that encourages guests to move between the bar and the arcade machines throughout the evening. The arcade selection includes a mix of classic video games and pinball machines, allowing visitors to revisit the gaming experiences many people grew up with. The games provide a casual activity that pairs naturally with drinks, making it easy for groups to relax and compete in friendly rounds while spending time together. The bar program focuses on cocktails, beer, and typical nightlife drinks rather than an extensive food menu. The beverage options complement the arcade concept

Pretty cool bar with pool and Nintendo games. The only problem is that the drink we had, called Curious George, was way too expensive at $17 and it was definitely and acquired taste. We did not like it.
