Stopped into Jox while staying at the Atlantis to check it out, expecting to just play a little video poker and have a beer for about half an hour before dinner. We ended up staying for several hours and had a great time. Loved this bar. There were a couple of locals that were very friendly. The atmosphere was cool, dated with lots of sports memorabilia, and the music was great. The bartender, Jill, was the highlight. She was so personable and treated us like we'd been coming for years. She made our martinis just like I make them at home which I loved and they had a good selection of beer too. We played 5-6 games of pool and just had a ball. We will definitely come back anytime we're in Reno.

Jill was top notch when it comes to hospitality when it comes to how she treats her customers. She brings the best late night vibe to this bar and knows how to treat outsiders like family

Look, I never want to say anything bad about a small local owned business, as we should be supporting them all we can. For a small Dive Bar the food is really good. Chicken sandwich and the Cajun sauce makes it one of the better sandwiches I've had. Small, dark and clean. Service is marginal at best. They cook spent more time with us than the bartender/waitress. I do not like eating around smokers and this bar if you are in the dining area the smoke travels the distance of 8 feet to your table. If smoke doesn't bother you then this will not be an issue. I would give it a try if you are in the area. Food is good, takes a little bit longer than normal to get but not too bad and service is marginal. Again, I would recommend trying it if you haven't been there.
