PUBLIC Hotel perfectly captures the energy, creativity, and style of New York City.
The hotel itself is stunning, with beautifully designed rooms offering incredible views over Manhattan. The wood-and-concrete aesthetic feels both modern and warm, while the iconic escalators in the lobby create an immediate wow factor from the moment you arrive.
One of the greatest strengths of PUBLIC is that it feels like much more than a hotel—it is a complete lifestyle destination.
The location in the Lower East Side is fantastic, putting some of New York’s best restaurants, bars, and neighborhoods within easy reach.
PUBLIC is not just a place to sleep—it’s an experience. Stylish without being pretentious, lively without being overwhelming, and one of the most memorable hotel stays we’ve had in New York.

This hotel has become one of my favorite third spaces. I genuinely love working here and enjoying the ambience they’ve so carefully curated. It’s thoughtful and charming.
Unfortunately, the bartenders on the second floor have seriously soured my experience. Every question I’ve asked or simple request I’ve made, even something as basic as ordering water, has been met with a noticeable lack of courtesy and professionalism. The tone and demeanor feel completely out of step with the atmosphere the hotel works so hard to create.
I hope this is taken as constructive feedback, because I truly do value this space and want to continue enjoying it.

Stayed at Public Hotel recently and had a great experience overall. The hotel design is really nice modern, clean, and the lobby has a great vibe. Check-in was smooth and the staff at the front desk were welcoming.
The room was comfortable and well set up, and I liked the architecture and layout of the space.
The rooftop was definitely a highlight great views, good music, and really good cocktails. Everything felt well organized.
Also, shoutout to the elevator attendant (Mouhammad), very polite and professional small detail but it made the experience even better.
Would definitely come back.

The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Unfortunately, the guest experience did not live up to the property’s design and appearance.
The biggest issue was the noise. We were unable to get adequate sleep on either night of our stay due to excessive noise from both outside and inside the hotel. Street noise was extremely loud, and the windows did not provide enough sound insulation for a New York City environment. I usually stay at the CitizenM hotel, just a couple blocks away, and have never experienced this problem. In addition, guests were coming and going at all hours, and conversations, doors, and footsteps could be heard as if they were happening inside our room. The bedding/pillow quality was also very poor.
Check-in was another frustrating experience. The hotel’s machine-based check-in process created significant bottlenecks at the front desk, resulting in long lines and a stressful arrival experience. Our party encountered issues during check-in, and we observed multiple other guests experiencing the same problems.
While the hotel’s design, staff and location are excellent, they do not make up for the lack of sleep and the operational challenges we experienced. Ov

Great location. Rooms are very chic. Very “designed” hotel. Lots of fun light features. Weird restroom / sink setup, but all things considered a decent use of space.
Sales staff, especially a Nicolle, absolutely phenomenal. So patient and wonderful to work with. Front desk staff a little less so.
For the price — why the hell are we using single ply sand paper toilet paper!? Awful. Not ok.
