Definitely gets the award for the most dive bar I visited during my six day stay in the area. True to the classic dive bar vibe is a darkly lit and windowless establishment with an awesome music mix playing. Service was great and they had a decent beer and drinks selection. I will definitely return and spend more time to sit back, relax and be entertained.

I used to adore this bar and have been coming on and off for over a decade. The bartenders here are all awesome, as is the well-curated beer selection. I just have some advice to the owner: don't treat (or allow employees to) good customers like common degenerates in service of enforcing some arbitrary policy. I was sipping my personal iced coffee (which I keep in my car and would not dream of bringing inside) while enjoying a cigarette in the parking lot, as I have been doing for over a year of coming here. A man I have never seen before who I can only assume is either the owner or a bouncer (doubtful on a Monday) abruptly told me with quite a tone to put it back in my car, claiming no outside containers allowed (in the parking lot?) because "they might be filled with alcohol." Zero bedside manner whatsoever. I get the bar's gruff, divey image, but come on. Maybe take a read of the customer before playing hall monitor. I guess I'm not spending money here anymore.

As a prov local who has been to hundreds of bars, I cannot wrap my head around the bad reviews. Especially the one claiming the bar is anti-lgbtq, because it 100% is not.
I come here often, maybe once a week, sometimes twice. Place is awesome, the bar tenders are friendly if you have time to strike up a convo with them. Super down to earth crew, and the owner is pretty damn cool too. They aren't expensive by any means, and have quick and consistent service.
Like I mentioned, I have been to hundreds of bars in RI, and this is my favorite one, because the staff is cool, and the customers that come in are just as awesome. Place is super welcoming. Every friend I have ever brought to this bar loves it.

Supreme dive bar. I absolutely adore every piece of gristle in the place. Friendly competition on the pool table. Excellent smokey parking lot and patio. Thick air and dark paint. Long live The Scurvy Dog.

Kick ass dive bar. Anthony Bourdain would’ve loved this place. Great bartenders (shout out Jolly), excellent smash burger, surprisingly good beer list, and all the metal music you can handle. Pro tip: don’t bring the kids, don’t bring the dogs and don’t bring pretensions.
