Allegiant Air is a hidden gem for smart travelers—especially if you live near a smaller airport.
What truly sets Allegiant apart is its focus on non-stop flights from small airport to small airport, often for under $100 round-trip. That alone is a game-changer. No crowded mega-hubs, no rushed layovers, no sprinting across terminals—just straightforward, efficient travel that gets you where you’re going with minimal hassle.
For travelers outside major metro areas, Allegiant solves a problem most airlines ignore. Instead of driving hours to a big airport or paying premium fares, you can depart locally, park easily, breeze through security, and be airborne in minutes. The time savings alone are enormous—and when you combine that with fares that can rival the cost of gas, it feels almost too good to be true. Not to mention rarely layovers (I'm not aware of layovers, but multi-hop may be available).
Allegiant’s pricing model is refreshingly transparent once you understand it. The base fare is incredibly low, and you only pay for what you actually want—checked bags, seat selection, or extras. If you travel light, the value is unbeatable. Even with add-ons, it’s often still far cheaper

My wife and I really LOVE Allegiant Airlines. Costs are low, services are always point on and best of all - NO seat reclining. While they may go to every major city, there is usually a regional airport close by. For example instead of paying 3x to 5x for a flight to Charlotte, NC, we fly to Concord, NC, 15-20 minutes north of Charlotte. Same to visit in-laws in way northern MD,, much cheaper to fly to Harrisburg, PA, which is 30 minutes away, rather than BWI, 90 minutes away.
My wife is handicapped and they always cater to any needs she has getting to and from gates and on and off planes. They have been fantastic. We still love to travel and always fly Allegiant whenever we can.
And that’s not the best part! They give veterans an even sweeter deal! No bag fee, no carry on fee and no seat fee - unless you want to reserve specific seats. As a retired Marine who served in Vietnam, it’s great for the recognition.
Love dis airline!!!

The worst experience flying out of MFE with Allegiant. The gate lady name Dora Rodriguez, made this experience worse and unpleasant. I would never fly with them again. Harassing ppl even when already the plane. I will be seeking legal counsel on Monday

Folks who are giving this 5 stars are bots or work for the airline. I have had 2 flights so far and 2 terrible long delays. The app does not update letting you know an additional delay happened until am hour or so later. No confidence at all

Allegiant air has an absolutely terrible corporate policy that if you have and infant child they require a copy of the Birth Certificate. No mention when booking ticket. They made us buy another ticket and split my family up when flying back home to Illinois even tho I had paid $160 so we can all sit together. I would not recommend this airline!
