Iron City Billiards

I didn’t like that there was no free water to drink. Every bar in America has a gun that dispenses water, soda, etc. and to only have bottled water available at a large tournament seems like a money grab to me. I did not appreciate being skipped after waiting in a line for a regular customer to just walk up and receive a drink before I was served. I also questioned the serving sizes of drinks. I am a bartender, and I patron many bars in Birmingham. A shot is pretty standard to all bars. The shots I received are without a doubt the smallest shots I have ever seen. If I would have had a way to measure, I would have because there is no way I even received an ounce of liquor! I even asked other friends (who are also bartenders) during the tournament I attended what they thought, and they all agreed the shots were short poured. Another issue I had with the bar was the $20 authorization charge on my card for every drink I purchased. I understand that the establishment probably wanted to ensure enough funds were present to cover the drink, however no other bar in Birmingham does this. If this is a bar policy, then you need to inform your customers. Because they are absolutely not expectin

Great tables, awesome vibes. Staff is super friendly. Phenomenal pricing. I'm from up north and prices are ridiculous. But this place is a huge bang for your buck. I've been to many pool halls. This place is easily number 1 for me now.

Super awesome place!! If you need a tip or your cue cleaned, or shaped. Or you need a cue. Stop by the front and see Larry. This is one of the best in the south, maybe the country, to shoot!!

The billiards tables were nice and kept in good condition. The atmosphere was nice as well. The reason I am rating the establishment lower is because our group of 4 had to wait about 30 minutes upon entering the building so that the staff member could sign us up for a membership. The membership itself was free (which was very nice) but the long wait time was a little excessive. For future consideration it would have been nice to be able to fill out this information online ahead of time so we didn’t have to wait at the entrance too long.

Great place, food was great, all the workers very friendly!
