Detention billiards

I absolutely love this bar, employees, and owners. There's not a more friendly, fun, and safe place to have a beer with a buddy or two, and play some pool. Tables are awesome and a fully stocked bar , and even a speekeasy upstairs. I highly recommend the Detention. To go anywhere else is just silly. Go, or you'll regret you didnt.

Came to meet up with some friends who were playing pool. Me and my husband had to use the restroom. My husband gave his friend some money to get us some drinks. While waiting for the bathroom, a lady with short curly hair rudely asked me with an ugly tone “did you buy drinks here!?” I’m so confused because never in my life an employee asked me such an irrelevant question! I stated “ya!” Again she asked rudely “ did you buy a drink OR are you going to buy a drink!” Again I’m in disbelief and said yes! As I’m using the restroom, I felt very uncomfortable and disrespected with her disgusting behavior. So when I exited the lady’s room I advised my husband of her behavior and wanted to leave immediately. So he asked his friend for his money back and advised them were leaving. So we left. She literally followed us out and said “hey guys, don’t come back!” I was in utter shock! I’ve been tower district promoter for 2 years now! No one has ever spoken to me in such an unprofessional, unpleasant manner! I’ve been coming here for years and never felt so disgusted with an employee behavior here!

“We’re not allowed to serve in glass cups after 8pm” is the laziest lie I’ve ever heard. “Yeah it’s a new regulation” is total bs. These bartenders are liars and would rather insult you than wash glass cups for a properly poured drink.

Love this place. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. Great hangout spot with friends. Karaoke nights are a hit.

Wow. Tons of billiard tables, a cheap bar, low rates, and that's that. Hard to go wrong. The back was a little messy, and I wish the music was consistent - there was a jukebox, but otherwise it was just silence, and there were not enough people to keep the jukebox going. But whatever, good cheap pool and good cheap drinks. Nice bathroom handles too.
