Slate Billiard Club

My only experience playing pool was around 20 years ago with friends at a bar, and not often. After seeing a segment about Slate on KARE 11, I contacted Josh and now have had two lessons while also attending two clinics over the past week. I cannot say enough about how much I am learning due to Josh’s expertise and his teaching style. Josh has great insight into helping me develop my technique while adjusting his teaching to fit my strengths and learning pattern. The evening clinics offer an inviting environment with exposure to all levels of play. I enjoy the opportunity to learn from more experienced players, and at the same time have the chance to work on developing my own skills. I highly recommend checking out Slate.

As a billiards enthusiast seeking to hone my skills and level up my game traveling for work can sometimes conflict with my goals. In this case I was fortunate to find Slate and the opportunity to work with Josh. From the moment I stepped into Slate I was met with professionalism and passion that set the tone for an unforgettable experience. The environment was well taken care of and clean with the best equipment you can ask to play on. What really impressed me is when Josh first came into the club for our lesson, he stopped at every table to check in with each person's game and give them a few quick pointers or encouragement. Under the expert tutelage of my instructor Josh he first wanted to make sure that my fundamentals were solid and addressed some questions that I had on my stance. He was able to meticulously dissect and tailor the individual training session to my individual needs. What truly stood out was the personalized attention and encouragement he provided throughout the session. As the lesson progressed, so did my confidence and proficiency on the table. What a great place with incredible pool Ambassadors at the helm! Josh is a pool geek and I say that with nothing but respect! His knowledge and his desire to share all of it with anyone and everyone is inspiring. He gave me some superb tips to help me with my training as well as to help my beginner friend as well. Can’t wait to visit when I’m in the area again!

I just left a 2 hour clinic taught by Joshua Burbul. It was very informative & I learned a plethora of information. The clinic was small enough to be able to take notes, have Q&A and Josh was a teacher, not a preacher. Slate is small with a clean & inviting atmosphere. It is comfortable yet has a prestigious feel. I highly recommend to check it out if you haven't yet. Definitely worth it.
