Side Pockets - Lee's Summit

We visited Saturday, April 5 for a group event, and we ordered food. When the food came, we weren't given utensils, so I went up to the bar to get that. My wife then wanted salt, and when I went up to get that, our server saw me and told I go sit down and wait for her to assist. Well, the problem was that we would have had to sit for ten minutes staring at our food without utensils to use. She came by infrequently, and generally seemed miffed for no good reason. Like others have said, the service here is pretty lame. The food, however, was very good, and the tenderloin sandwich was one of the best we've had. The toilets were clean, and other than the less-than-average service, it was an an enjoyable experience. One employee turned this potential five star review to a three star review.

Worse experience ever. We've been there many times and always tip well. All but one over 65 yo. Not drinking. Waitress immediately had attitude. Was rude and flippant. We asked to have a channel changed to game and it took 30 minutes and asking twice. It was not busy. We ordered appetizers and when they came out she brought napkins only. I offered to go get the plates and waitress blew. We asked to see the mgr and she refused to come because the waitress told her WE were bullying. I finally went to bar to talk to mgr and she was rude and stood by the gals story. Our nachos were wrong but we were going to eat them. But then she asked us to tab out and added 18 percent tip to tab. We had 6 people but three arrived late and never got waited on. At that point I refused to pay for the incorrect order. Unbelievable experience. Will never return. 20 something years of going there for games and parties. Then the waitress tells us she was having a bad day. Wow. I could accept that if she had not told the mgr we were bullying her. We went to Konrad's, had great food and drinks and our fabulous waitress got an awesome tip. Sorry Sidepockets. I get now why you weren't busy.

Met up with a old friend to catch-up at happy hour. Was planning to shoot some pool while there but all the tables were reserved for league night. I would have thought few open tables as an option and maybe they were already taken. Regardless had a good time, had some food snacks and a few drinks Wait staff did a good job of taking care of us even during a shift change where we got a new waitress.
