Rialto Pool Room

My absolute favorite place to play pool! I love Rialtos so much, the food & atmosphere is great . The bartenders & security are such amazing people, especially Sarah, Raul, & Kaden (sorry if I miss spelled the names). This is the kind of place I love being my friends to & will continue to come back to!

I am writing this review because what I witnessed was extremely disturbing. My companion and I were visiting for what was supposed to be a fun night out. A disagreement began with security, and although I repeatedly asked for the situation to be de-escalated, the confrontation continued. Security warned that pepper spray would be used. The situation ultimately escalated to the point that three security personnel discharged large amounts of bear spray on my companion until he was completely saturated. Afterward, we contacted law enforcement and obtained a police report. We later learned that security reported my companion had pulled a knife, which they stated was the reason force was used. That allegation is now part of the police report and investigation. Regardless of how the investigation concludes, watching a situation escalate from a verbal dispute to three people unloading bear spray was shocking and traumatic. As a customer, I left feeling unsafe and questioning whether there were opportunities for better communication and de-escalation before things reached that level. What is up with the security guard with the mustache I haven’t read one positive thing about him. Very rude person and denied two people in our group because they were “too drunk” yet they were the only sober people as they were our DDs. We then started laughing because we obviously thought he was joking which I guess he didn’t like and said we were being “aggressive”. Actually insane that this place still employed this guy 😂

Bartender looked me right in the eye and lied about giving me a number. Worst experience I've ever had in Portland getting a table. Much better spots all over town. And they charged me twice for my order. Bunch of crooks.

My buddy and I went there on Friday Night around 11pm. The security guard said they were on high alert this weekend and said we showed signs of intoxication. We had 2 beers at Kelly’s Olympian prior. No we weren’t intoxicated fool! We ended going to Marathon Tavern instead. Super fun place. I wouldn’t go to Rialto’s if I were you. Theirs better pool places with legit diamond tables. Food and service are always mid here anyway. The clown security guard just solidified me never going here again. Apparently theirs other people complaining about the same security guard on these reviews. Clearly he’s the common denominator. I shared his pic from another review. Do better mustache clown!
