Coppertank Pool Hall

Honestly I don’t know what all the horrible reviews are about. Is it people trying to keep others away, or just yuppie idiots visiting Austin who have never stepped foot in a real pool hall? Have you ever been to an actual pool hall before? Clearly not. With that said, this place is nothing like an old gritty pool hall. It is clean, the crowd is young, and nobody is judging you if you cannot play. It is simple. Get a drink, play some pool, and have a good time. And the music? Tyler Childers is way cooler than any of that new age club hip hop nonsense. Half the people in the reviews sound like drunk losers complaining about nothing. Six dollars for three games in Austin, Texas, and it is barely crowded? Count me in.

Not sure why there's such mixed reviews because this place has always been fun and the staff is friendly. My husband and I have never had a bad experience. The chips + salsa + queso is delicious (I believe it's from the neighboring restaurant though).

This is a really nice looking place, and the air conditioning feels amazing, but I am just bummed that they do not offer hourly rates. And, to make things much worse, I feel that $2 per game is very expensive, in my opinion. So, this is not a Players pool hall. Super nice place though, and I imagine that the college crowd really love it. Just wish that maybe they coukd offer hourly rates, for maybe $10 an hour. So, as someone who does not drink, and just loves to play pool, this is not the type of pool hall that I would want to return to. Loved the look of the place though, and it felt so nice in there.

bartenders are great and super friendly! we wish most songs weren’t blocked on touchtunes. really kills the vibe, we can play pool elsewhere with better music

Owner was nice enough to let my brother and I play for free when it was raining out and slow inside (mid-day). Came back in the evening the following night and it was busy, but managed to play with a few strangers. Great time, great spot.
