The Corner Pocket

My husband and I ate lunch at The Corner Pocket today. It was our first visit, and we weren't sure what to expect. But we were absolutely delighted with the food and the service. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap, and my husband ordered a Grilled Chicken Pesto Sandwich. Both orders were beautifully presented and included a side order of chef made chips in clever little wire baskets. Everything was delicious - perfect temperature, delicious taste and generous portions. Our waiter was Chauncey who was friendly and attentive. It's a bit unusual, I admit, to find food of this quality in a pool hall, but it was such a delicious surprise that we are definitely planning to return. My only negative was they carry Pepsi products and I prefer Coke. But that's a small price to pay for such a wonderful dining experience. - Janet Morris Belvin

Been to “The Pocket” several times. Love the atmosphere and the $0.75 wings on Thursdays and Sundays. Live music nights, pool tables, a bar - love it.

We came here on a weekday. Maybe 3 other tables. Service was incredibly slow, I had to go find the waitress to ask for our check. She didn’t apologize for the slow service once. It took 10 minutes just to get our sodas to the table and longer for the food. Wanted to order chicken tenders off the kids menu since I wasn’t very hungry. Was denied. Chicken tenders came burned on the ends and were dry but also oily?? Fries were ok. Maybe it’s better at night, but we won’t be coming back to find out.

Good food and great service. I ordered the Swiss and mushroom burger cooked just like I asked, medium rare.

I ordered by phone, was told it was loud, which I understand but I was practically yelling my order into the phone. We picked up our order, it was made all wrong. I paid for bacon on my sandwich, did not get any bacon. Super messy small portioned chicken salad sandwich for $16... Paid for extra cheese and bacon on the bacon cheese fries and there was nothing but a few bacon crumbs on the fries... The food tasted great, but the experience left something to be desired.
